Daily Bible Verse July 21, 2026 – Meaning, Prayer & Life Application

Bible Verse of the Day Romans 1:17 (NIV)
“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’”

Meaning of Romans 1:17

Romans 1:17 reveals one of the foundational truths of the Christian faith: we are made right with God not by our own efforts, but through faith in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul explains that God’s righteousness is revealed through the Gospel, and it is received by faith from beginning to end.

This verse reminds us that the Christian life is a journey of faith. We are saved by faith, sustained by faith, and called to continue walking by faith every day. Our confidence is not in our abilities, achievements, or circumstances, but in God’s promises and His unfailing character.

There will be moments when life feels uncertain and the path ahead is unclear. During those times, Romans 1:17 encourages us to trust God completely. Faith does not always mean having all the answers—it means believing that God is faithful even when we cannot see what He is doing.

Today, God is inviting you to take another step of faith. Trust Him with your plans, your family, your finances, and your future. The same God who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.

Life Application

Reflect on these questions today:

Am I trusting God in every area of my life?
Are there situations where fear has replaced faith?
What step of faith is God asking me to take today?

Choose to live by faith rather than by fear. Spend time in God’s Word, pray consistently, and remember His faithfulness in your past experiences. Every step of obedience strengthens your trust in Him.

Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your righteousness through the Gospel. Help me to live by faith and not by sight. When I face uncertainty, remind me that You are in control and that Your promises never fail. Strengthen my trust in You and give me the courage to obey Your leading each day. May my life reflect unwavering faith in Your goodness and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
